In order to effectively implement the '14th Five-Year Plan for the Protection and Use of National Intellectual Property Rights', the Enterprise Trademark Management Committee of the Beijing Trademark Association established a writing group for the Guidelines for Enterprise Trademark Management. After bringing together many front-line trademarks practice experts from leading enterprises and trademark legal service institutions, and on the basis of full research, the writing team compiled the Guidelines for Enterprise Trademark Management (hereinafter referred to as the Guidelines).

On February 28, 2023, the Beijing Trademark Association held a press conference. The Guidelines was officially released. Mr. James Liu, as one of the editors-in-chief, was invited to attend the press conference. The Guidelines is divided into seven parts, and the fourth part, edited by Mr. Liu, focuses on trademark rights protection. In the section on trademark rights protection, Mr. Liu shared the practical experience accumulated in nearly 20 years of trademark protection work, dividing trademark rights protection into ownership dispute cases and infringement and unfair competition cases according to different enforcement scenario. He introduced rights protection strategies and the focus of work systematically and comprehensively, providing clear guidance on how to carry out the trademark protection work for enterprises. This part, we believe, could improve the efficiency and value of enterprise trademark management.
